Mountain bikes are now available as an option when hiring a Thrifty 4WD vehicle. Perfect for ‘Gentle
Adventurers,’ the bikes are supplied by leading New Zealand tourism operator Adventure Capital.
The Product:
• Bikes are available as an add-on when hiring a Toyota
Rav 4, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Prado or Toyota Hilux
(or similar) vehicle from Thrifty’s Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch or Queenstown locations.
• The hassle-free kits contain a 2016 Avanti mountain bike
(suitable for on road, off road & mixed terrain riding
available in a range of sizes), helmet, lock, repair kit,
pump and arrive in a handy carry bag
pre-loaded into the rear of a 4WD rental vehicle.
• Perfect for clients from Australia, US, Canada, UK &
Continental Europe.
• Benefits for Travel Trade: time saving (no need to
deal with multiple suppliers throughout NZ); includes
itinerary with ride times & trail logistics; one point of
contact should you need to amend bookings.
• Benefits for clients: convenience, quality assurance,
available year-round, time saver (no need to pick up &
drop off bikes at various locations)
Nett bike gear hire rates until 30 September 2017:

$25/day $50/day
5+ day rental
Need to know:
• Maximum 2 bikes and 2 adults per 4WD rental vehicle;
bikes must be rented for entire vehicle rental period;
booking lead time is 7 days; minimum 7 day hire
between 21 December and 3 January; one way fees
for the cycle hire apply; these range from $125 - $300
per bike approximately. Payment for one way fees is
made directly to Adventure Capital. If the customer
has a Thrifty multi-island rental, bikes will need to be
taken on the ferry as luggage by your client. Thrifty’s
standard terms and conditions apply. Adventure Capital’s
cancellation policy and terms & conditions apply.
How to Book:

A request will be sent to Adventure Capital who will be
in contact within 24 hours to confirm the booking and
payment details. At this time, they will request additional
details for example your clients height to ensure the bike
frame is the correct size.
