New Zealand Representatives
Top Footba ll School
The Villa 1st XI have won the Gary
Sowden Football Tournament in superb
fashion. The Villa team were undefeated,
scoring 29 goals and only conceding
three.
Villa - Top Gymnastics School
We are very proud to announce that Villa has been awarded the
2014 Top School Award for gymnastics. This is from a combination of
Aerobics, Gymnastics and Trampoline results for both participation and
performance. We are very proud of our girls and their achievements.
Madaline Davidson
(Year 11)
has been
selected in the New Zealand Trampoline
Team. The team will compete in the
World Age Championships in Florida,
USA in November.
Charlotte Worley (Year 8)
was a
member of the New Zealand Trampoline
Team which competed in the Australian
Championships in June. Charlotte was
in the Under 15 grade for the Individual
Trampolining and came away with an
amazing 2nd place.
Phoebe McCaughan (Year 12)
was
selected in the New Zealand Under 17
Road Cycling Team. This team travelled
to Australia in May to compete in the
Canberra Tour. The New Zealand team
won this event for the first time in about
20 years!
Jessie Anderson (Year 11)
was selected
in the New Zealand Secondary Schools’
Cross Country Team. She travelled with
the team to Perth and competed in
the Athletics Australia and Australian
Schools’ Cross Country Championships.
She came 23rd in the senior girls race
(and 4th in the NZ team) and also gained
two 3rd placings - one in the 4 person
and the other in the 5 person relay teams.
Emily Rennell (Year 12)
is a National
Champion swimmer winning two
national titles at the recent New Zealand
Secondary Schools’ competition in
Wellington. She won gold in the 16-18
years, 50m and 100m Fly and in both
events set a new meet record.
