Level 3 Visual Arts
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
NCEA Level 2 Visual Arts is essential.
CONTENT
Subjects offered are Design and Painting.
Each is a separate subject.
You will study a course of Level 3
Achievement Standards totalling 22 credits for
Design and 22 credits for Painting
The courses include:
- Design – Internal/external standards
based on student initiated work.
- Painting – Based on a theme of
landscapes or student initiated work

12 credits in NCEA Level 2 English
CONTENT
The area of study for 2017 will be Italian
Renaissance art (Late Renaissance
c1470 – 1540s). This is an interesting period
covering many of the great minds and thinkers
of the time.
Eight particularly famous artists will provide
the structure of the course and these include:
- Botticelli
- Leonardo da Vinci
- Michelangelo
- Raphael
- Titian

NCEA Level 3 credits from external and
internal achievement standards.
QUALIFICATION GAINED IF STANDARDS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
There are 32 credits in NCEA Level 3 Art
History from which students can choose.
