Level 3 Digital Technologies
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Completion of NCEA Level 2 Digital
Technology
CONTENT
For students who gained Level 2 their skills
will be extended to use complex tools and
techniques. The course will be more business
focussed and will enable students to use a
computer competently for both personal and
vocational purposes.
Students who do not have Level 2 may follow
a skills based unit standard course.

HOW THE COURSE IS ASSESSED
Achievement and unit standard assessments
at Level 3
QUALIFICATION GAINED IF STANDARDS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
This course offers two pathways to meet the
students’ needs. The achievement standard
course offers at least 14 credits, all UE
approved with some reading and writing credits.
The unit standard course offers up to 20 credits
towards NCEA Level 3.

Subject contribution fee: $20 approximately

CONTENT
Economics is the study of how people as
individuals and groups choose to satisfy their
wants by allocating and managing our scarce
resources.
Economics encourages students to gain
confidence in their ability to participate
effectively in a changing world.
Skills and Topics include:
- Consumer demand
- Supply
- Producers’ decisions
- Market interaction
- Interdependence in the New Zealand
economy
HOW THE COURSE IS ASSESSED
A combination of internal and external Level 1
achievement standards, including a field trip
QUALIFICATION GAINED IF STANDARDS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
Up to 21 Credits towards NCEA Level 1 which
can be endorsed to merit or excellence. All
standards contribute to NCEA literacy
requirements.
