CONTENT
The course is divided into five sections
- Cultural Processes: Tourism
development in Queenstown
- Research: Tourism impacts in
Queenstown
- Analyse a contemporary geographic
issue: Adventure Tourism – risk or
reward?
- Global study: Diamond trade
- Event management
- Geographic skills and ideas - optional
HOW THE COURSE IS ASSESSED
You will be working towards attaining Level 3
NCEA Achievement and Unit standards
4 internally assessed
1 or 2 externally assessed
QUALIFICATION GAINED IF STANDARDS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
Up to 22 credits in NCEA Level 3.
These credits include Level 3 literacy and
numeracy credits, and some literacy credits
contribute to UE requirements.
WHAT WILL IT COST
$340 approximately for Queenstown field trip
This trip will occur if costs permit.

Century
Several themes will be studied including:
- Titanic: ‘A History Mystery’
- Research – A New Zealand Disaster
- Rights and Reactions: Civil Rights in the
USA and New Zealand
- War and Peace: Origins of World War II
