Help us get connected

I’m proud to be a part of the St Andrew’s College

community and I want to support the fundraising

campaign and Centenary celebrations.

Our 20 Years On Reunion was an amazing opportunity

for our year group to reconnect with each other

and with the College. As the school enters its

rebuilding phase, it makes sense for the greater

College community to be involved and help with the

fundraising. However like many Old Collegians my

age, I am at a stage in life where even though I want

to give generously to the campaign I am committed to

supporting a young family, school fees and a mortgage.

When I heard there were 2,000 bricks being sold for the new Chapel I thought that

it was a fantastic opportunity to be a part of history and a way I could help.

As a result a few of us came up with the idea of the Centennial Challenge - a way

for everybody to strengthen their connection with the College as we plan for the

Centenary and celebrate all things StAC.

If in each year group an individual gifts $50.00 a month to the Step Into Our Future

campaign, this amount spread over five years is a total gift of $3,000 (essentially

buying a ‘brick’ or a ‘note’). If fifty mates from our year group participate then we

will contribute $150,000 to the College’s campaign.

We hope that by other year groups joining in the Centennial Challenge, the

College will not only strengthen connections with its past pupils but that we,

as Old Cols will help invest in bricks and mortar for the College for future

generations.

In August we launched the Centennial Challenge and we now have 17 year group

champions. These are the people who help us to connect with other alumni. We

are looking for others to help lead each year of Old Collegians to reconnect in

time for the Centenary and spread the word about the campaign.

Is your year group keen? You can start by nominating someone or volunteering

yourself to be a year group champion and then enlist some helpers. For

example, our year group will have myself and five or six other guys who will

connect with their contacts and spread the word through email. This challenge

is about engaging the power of our alumni network and with everyone working

together we can achieve the goal of having as many people ‘getting connected’

and being a part of StAC history.

The Centennial Challenge is a special

campaign initiative led by our Old

Collegians. We would like to ensure

every Old Collegian has been invited

to take part in the

Step Into Our

Future

campaign and to attend the

College’s Centenary celebrations

in 2017.

The leader of the St Andrew’s College

Centennial Challenge will be the

year group with the greatest level of

participation in the campaign and

attendance at the Centenary.

The Centennial Challenge message

for Old Collegians is:

• Get connected

• Be a part of history
