The farm came to town at this year’s
Boarders’ Assembly as dogs, calves,
chickens and ride-on ATVs descended
on the College. Boarding prefects
Fred Scott and Natalie Allen led the
theme of the assembly, ‘Boarders
at the Heart of the College’, which
celebrated the diversity of boarding
students. Enthusiastic singing and
hilarious dancing in costume completed
the overall performance, which left
everyone feeling in good spirits.
Head of Boys’ Boarding, Fred Scott,
says the assembly took a lot of time and
effort. “Everything on the day went to
plan and apparently it was an assembly
with the most animals and vehicles so
that was cool. There were two main
messages we wanted to get across. The
first being boarding is the heart of the
College. The culture of boarding and the
wide range of places people come from
is something other schools never get to
experience.
“The other message came from
the morning comment from Ben
Sutherland that life is about having the
right attitude, and the right attitude
leads to success.”
