Ceilidh
It was tartan, bagpipes, smiles
and drams all round at this
year’s Ceilidh. A highlight on the
StAC social calendar, the Ceilidh
attracted an enthusiastic crowd who
celebrated the College’s Scottish
heritage into the wee hours.
There was a rousing toast to the
Haggis along with performances
by our very own World Champion
Pipe Band and, later in the evening,
tutors Richard Hawke, Graeme
Bryce, Jamie McEwan and James
Laughlin performed, accompanied
by highland dancers.
Thank you to the large team of
event organisers, and in particular
Tracy Haggerty-Mathewson who
worked closely with the business
community, who kindly donated
many fabulous prizes for the silent
auction. The auction raised almost
$18,000, which will go to the College
Pipe Band.
Pipes at the
Our ever-popular STAC ATTACK was
once again a sellout event. A hundred
plus students were involved in making
this an evening to remember. Year
13 student Josh Smith as Pipe Major
showed great leadership to the
younger students, as did the other
senior Pipe Band members.
