Level 3 Music
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
NCEA Level 2 Music or at the discretion of the
HOD of Music
For Achievement Standards 3.1 and 3.3 an
instrument for performance is required.
(Note: Voice is an instrument).
CONTENT
The course covers the following aspects:
- Performance
- Composition arranging
- Aural skills
- Musical literacy and analysis
- Research
- Knowledge of musical works.
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED
There are 7 achievement standards and 43
credits at Level 3. Students will be offered up to
24 credits from Achievement Standards in
Practical Music and in Music Studies. Students
can also choose from a number of Level 3 Unit
Standards.
QUALIFICATION GAINED IF STANDARDS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
Up to 30 credits in NCEA Level 3
It is not expected that student will do all of the
available units
Opportunity to do level 4/5 performance music
at the discretion of the HOD Music
WHAT WILL IT COST
$30 per performance if piano accompaniment
for performance is required
