- Natural events: Earthquakes in Haiti and
Christchurch
- Sustainability: The Maldives
- Contemporary issue: Social networking
- Research: Weather patterns
- Geographic skills and ideas
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED
You will be working toward attaining Level 1
NCEA Achievement Standards
3 internally with a mixture of standards
2 externally assessed
QUALIFICATION GAINED IF STANDARDS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
Up to 18 credits in NCEA level 1
These credits include level 1numeracy and
literacy credits
WHAT WILL IT COST
Cost of bus for entry to Quake City for natural
events field trip will be approximately $15
