Level 3 Achievement Standards
in Home
Economics (University approved subject):
- Investigate a nutritional issue affecting the
well-being of New Zealand society.
- Investigate the influence of multi-national
corporations on eating patterns in New
Zealand
- Analyse a food related ethical dilemma for
New Zealand society.
- Analyse the influence of food advertising
on well-being
The course will also offer a
Level 2
Hospitality Unit Standard:
prepare and
present salads for service.
HOW THE COURSE IS ASSESSED
15 credits internally assessed at NCEA Level 3.
4 credits externally assessed at NCEA Level 3.
2 credits internally assessed at Level 2 that
contribute to NCEA Level 3.
Literacy credits
can be gained from
Achievement Standards: 91466, 91468, 91469,
91471
QUALIFICATION GAINED IF STANDARDS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
21 credits, 19 literacy credits at Level 3 and 2
credits at Level 2 that contribute to Level 3.
WHAT WILL IT COST
$120 which covers a personalised apron and
resources provided for practical sessions, except
for internal practical assessments, where students
are required to provide ingredients
